Sachi washed her hands under the tap and tied an apron around her waist. She'd decided to get a job on level 15 at a cheap Inn as a waitress to earn extra. She was saving up for a new pair of boots with stats armor +9 and agility +39. And her share from the raids just wasn't a enough of an income. Unfortunately, the Inn was a mess. The food was horrible, dry and flavorless. Sachi had a fairly high skill in cooking, but even if she was only a beginner, she knew she could do better than this. And the only people who ever came into the worn down Inn were the bandits, thieves, alcoholics and occasional street sleepers who weren't bothered with houses (and gees, how vulnerable did she feel). But it was usually very desolate. Her shift had just started when she heard the 'ding' of the bell at the front door. Sachi glanced at the clock, 7pm. The worst of the lot usually arrived at around 11. Sachi sighed, grabbed a wad of paper and a pen before exiting the staff room to the dining area.

Klein opened the door to the little Inn to find it empty. The sound of the bell resounded throughout the entire wooden room. He sat down at a small table in the corner and threw his legs up on the table. He picked up the menu with one hand and stroked his stubble with the other. He'd won plenty or PvP's that day and had gotten quite a lot of cash. When people asked him "Hey Klein, what are you gonna do with all that cash?" He had responded by shrugging and saying "Probably go to a small in on level 18 or below by myself." Klein had friends who he loved, but he also liked going alone sometimes. Today was one of those days. He had told his friends he'd gone to a reasonably expensive cafe on level 17 when in actual fact, he'd decided to go to the back street Inn on level 15. His stomach grumbled. He could tell the food here would not be appealing, but when he saw the pretty young waitress walk into the dining hall an idea formed in his head. 'She looks like she can cook,' he thought.

"Can I help you?" Sachi asked. The man who sat before didn't look like the other people who came to the Inn. Sure, he was just a rough looking as the rest. But a big smile was spread across his face and his feet lay relaxed on top of the table. He wore high level armor or pinky-red and cream. He was most certainly not poor either and the armor didn't look stolen. Sachi smiled back at him. She felt that this shift wouldn't be as terrible as all the others.

Klein pasted a smile on his face, "Uh, yes thanks." He looked eyes with the girl, lifted an eyebrow briefly before continuing. "To start with, I'd like your best brew." He gave a quick glance back down at the menu and then in a more hushed voice continued, "The food here sucks doesn't it. You look like you can cook. Why don't you whip me up something nice, Eh?" He folded the menu and lay it back on the table. He threw his hands behind his head and leaned back into his chair so it rocked on it's hind legs. He looked at her expectantly, eager to hear the response.

Sachi quickly scribbled down "best brew" on the notepad and looked up waiting for him to continue. Instead, he spoke quietly requesting her to cook. She blinked rather absently. With his legs on the table and the chair rocking on it's back legs, Sachi felt like standing behind him in fear that he'd fall. But the man seemed to be quite skilled in balancing. "Uh, sure..." She whispered in response and scribbled "my cooking". "By the way, my name is Sachi, I will be your waitress for this evening". She thought about adding a little smiley face on the side of the page, but decided against it. The boss wouldn't like that. Sachi went to the kitchen where the chef was sleeping on chair in the corner. Saliva bubbled and frothed around his mouth. Sachi sighed and opened the cellar door and walked down a few steps. She pulled the light string and searched the different labels. She pulled one out that she'd heard the chef saying was the best they'd had in stock for a long time. Boars Blood Brew didn't exactly sound appealing to her and she checked the ingredients list (to find it did have Boars Blood in it). She shuddered at the thought and took it out to the customer in a big wooden mug. Then she went to the kitchen and took out a knife and some ingredients. "Oh Geez. What am I gonna cook?" she mumbled.

Klein looked down at his mug of Boars Blood and grinned. It was his favourite brew, and it was rather rare to find as well. But not because it was a high quality beverage, no, quite the contrary. It was actually considered low quality so no one stocked it. But Klein found it rather suited his taste. "Thank you miss..." He said rather loudly at first, but began to trail off as the young waitress walked back to the kitchen very flustered. His face dropped slowly along with his voice. Then he suddenly took an extreme interest in his Boars Blood. He chugged down a good gulp and sighed in content. "You know," he yelled loud enough so that it would be audible in the kitchen, "I like stews." He had to hand it to the girl, she was doing her best. The least he could do was drop a hint of what he wanted. He continued to rock slowly back and forth on his chair in that same 'dangerously on the edge' position. "Ahh, I like this place."

Sachi gripped the knife tightly with both hands and released her deep breath. She heard a yell from the dining hall, "You know, I like stews." She sighed with relief and checked her recipe list at all the stews she could make. She didn't want to give him boars stew as he already had Boars Blood. Wolf Meat, Beat Meat, Cow Mutation Meat. One caught her attention, Strangler Meat. A Strangler was a breed of forest cat, one of the higher level ones. The order started at Stalker, then Claw-er, Ripper, Shredder, Strangler and a few unknown ones. The store inventory had only 2 portions of Strangler Meat. She tapped deftly at the inventory menu and selected it. She hesitated over the recipe button. No, she wouldn't follow a recipe, she would make it up. She tapped the meat and vegetables with a knife and watched them fall to neatly cut pieces. She threw all of the different ingredients into a pot and turned the heat on medium. She looked over at the spices and herbs draw in the corner for a moment, before plonking some of them into the pot. Sachi sat down on one of the seats in the kitchen and set the timer. The meal that usually took a long time to cook was reduced heavily in time because of the high quality pot used, stats-time 400%. The Inn was known for it's speed, so the only thing with high quality was the kitchen equipment. Only 10 or so minutes and the meal would be done.

A delicious smell wafted through the kitchen and into the dining hall. Klein glanced over at the clock. Still only 7:12. He didn't expect anyone else to join him any time soon. He swished around the alcholic beverage in his ogre sized mug. He sighed slightly in content. "Smells good!" He said, once again loud enough for the young waitress to hear. He could tell she was making the meal out of farely good meat. Probably a high level forest cat. Maybe a Shredder or perhaps even a Strangler. He didn't expect her to have ever heard of Gutters, the rare species, and he most certainly didn't expect the store to stock any. He looked back down at the mug. His alchohal tolerance was extremely high. "Hey Miss Sachi, when you bring my meal, could I have another mug of this stuff?"

Sachi listened over her shoulder to the young man requesting another mug of the Boars Blood. She went pulled out the bottle again and filled up another mug. Then she ladelled the stew out of the pot and into a large bowl. Sachi had noticed that all of the utensils at the Inn were ginormous. Ogre size. Was this Inn designed for Ogres? The food certainly tastes like Ogre mush. Sachi pulled out a tray and placed the meal and drink on it. She carried it out to the customer and laid it down on the table, in the space where his feet didn't occupy the wood. "It's Strangler Meat Stew" She mumbled and turned to walk away.
